Alinde Quartett on Aldeburgh

Last week’s ensemble in residence were Alinde Quartett. Based in Cologne, Germany, they are Eugenia Ottaviano (Violin), Axel Haase (Violin), Amélie Legrand (Viola), Lukas Wittermann (‘Cello). Established in 2010, they have a growing reputation in Europe, but this is their first visit to the UK and Aldeburgh.

Aldeburgh according to the Solem Quartet

The Solem Quartet have just finished their two weeks at Aldeburgh Music, working on repertoire with Simon Rowland-Jones. Although the Manchester-based group haven’t been here as a quartet, Steph and Mike have both performed in the Britten-Pears Orchestra in the past.

The Fludde Choir at the Christmas Concerts

The Fludde Choir sang beautifully and behaved wonderfully for both concerts. They were invited by Aldeburgh Voices to join them for a Christmas concert with music and readings both in Aldeburgh and in Lowestoft. Lots of glorious tinsel, sparkly headbands, and Hayden’s Christmas zipper bauble in addition to fun penguin warm-ups, led by the dynamic duo of Brooke and Chloe from the senior choir, made it really terrific.
